Ohio is a unique state in many respects. For one thing, its date of admission was not determined until 1953 by an act of Congress! This was because of a clerical error in the original Bill of Statehood, which omitted the date. The official date established in 1953 is March 1, 1803. A lot has happened since then.
Your task is to research and select one event from Ohio's history from 1803 to 1903 that you think is the most significant (other than its admission to the union!) Write a brief Who, What, When, Where, How and Why statement to summarize the event, and then tell why you think it is the most significant.
To respond, just click on the "Comments" link. This assignment must be completed by Friday, October 7, at 8:00 P.M. It is worth up to 10 points, with an extra point available for exceptional work. I will give my own response as an example... you may not use mine!
